Cuttlebug card 1 designed

There are a few posts I need to wait for since I want the recipients to see them first!  lol

Meanwhile, here is on card of four I designed for a Cuttlebug Swap I participated in early Spring.  I tell you some of the cards I got back were absolutely amazing!  I want to use them but just can part with them yet!  Meanwhile here' one I designed.

I used Stampin Up(SU) Card stock, the dragonfly out of the SU Infinite Goodness, and the Cuttlebug musical notes folder.

Which by the way, I don't own a cuttlebug but it didn't stop me from using the folders, which I love!  It works in my Zipe mate and I think it will even work in the Big Shot that Stampin Up is currently selling too.  I'm thinking I might replace my zipe mate with the big shot, we'll see.

I went to the Stampin Up Regionals in Portland, OR today with a fellow Demo and Friend, Sue.  We left Seattle at 5am and got home about 10:30pm!  We drove down, which was about a three hour drive each direction, not so bad.  And we were fortunatel enough to park real close, I could even see my car as we'd walk by in the building during the day.  It made for a long day but boy, was it ever worth it!  And talking with a friend as your driving makes the drive ever more shorter!

And oh wow, did I ever learn so much!  Of course there were business ended things I learned but what got me so excited was all the new and interesting ways to stamp and use the products!  As soon as I get my wits about me, I'll have to try them myself and get things posted here.  But I can tell you one thing, I've got LOTS (I mean LOSTS!!!) of interesting things to share at the next few stamp camps and workshops  I host.  ;)

Shoebox Party Card Design

This is what I did on Saturday, I had 13 of my stamping buddies over and boy did we ever have fun!  This is the card I designed for the Shoebox.  Super easy but it looks impressive!  All I did was to emboss the image then place chrystal effects in choose spots and cover in silver microbeads.

And here are some pictures of the day!  My house was filled to the brim with tables and people but it also overflowed in friendship, food,and talent!  It was a good day!

Wedding card

Wow, what a busy weekend I had!  I did a Stampin Up workshop Saturday (very successful by the way!) and went to a friend's wedding Sunday.  I don't know where all the time went because I also had to go clothes shopping for myself and one of my sons for the wedding and a gift for the wedding and I didn't get it done until 3 hours before!  A little close for comfort but it did get done. 

Anyway, I tried to make a card for the wedding but everything I tried wasn't working, probably because I was too much of a last minute charley!  So I did this quicky card, snapped together in 5 minutes but it was the best I could do this time!

I had the die cuts for another friend who never got married, I took white cardstock, covered it in white mulberry with white and silver strands through it, assembled the die cut pieces and tied a silver cord on it.  It couldn't have been more simple but at least it was something!  I am also working on a handmade gift for her, so maybe I'll come up with a better card the second time!

Sunday the Bride's parents were in attendence but was not very involved by the choice of the Bride.  I understand that I don't know the full story of what might have caused this break in the family but I was also reminded of how very special my own relationship with my parents are.  I am so blessed to have both my parents not only alive and involved in my life, but parents who still love and care about my life as well as I in theirs.   This weekend reminded me how fortunate I really am of that.  You would have never caught me saying this when I was 15, but God has blessed me greatly when He sent me down to my two parents!  I hope I'm living up to their expectations too, for now I'm teaching three sons the same lessons they taught me!

Medallion Card

Well, I wanted to go to a Shoebox party but by the time I contacted the hostess, she was full.  I got a call today saying that a couple seats were now open so guess what...I'm going!  I just wish it weren't because the other two were sick!  I hope they get better real soon!

So, anyway, after dark (because I had to do as much outside as I could in order to go play tomorrow), I just spent a couple hours figuring out what to do for my project and decided to do the new medallion that people have been doing of late.  It took abit to find things around the craft room that I already had, good thing I have BIBHUIY!  (Bought It But Haven't Used It Yet)  Guess I have one card designed for my Stampin Up Stamp Camp and workshops this month now!

Finally, my project is designed, cut and bagged up for a great day of shoeboxing tomorrow....who wanted to do more weedng anyway!  ;)

Sympathy card created for friend

As you saw from last post, a friend died last week.  I created this card for the family. Simple card but I wanted them to know I was thinking of them.   Inside I wrote a special letter to the family.  The letter got so long, I did a special fold so it would all fit inside a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card!  You know how it is, it isn't good enough just to "stick the letter" inside the card!  ;)

It was hard to snap back "into action" this weekend although Friday was a great celebration of his life.  There were about 900 people there. His family is amazing!  He has 9 grandkids and each one was the light of his life!  During the service friday, all nine grandkids got up and sang a few songs "Grandpa" really enjoyed.  And the family showed a special picture video of his life that they made for his 70th birthday last December.  Beautifully wonderful to be in attendance!  Funny thing is, we all thought if he was there he'd say "stop all the fuss" then quickly point over for us to get a cookie! 

I've got a ton of SWAPS to complete (ASAP, of course!) and also some new Stamp Camp projects.  (Over booked as usual!)  Stay tuned, I'm getting back into the swing of things this week!  Thank you for my indulgences these last couple days!
