Well, I did it again! I entered a second puzzle SWAP "Dragonflies." This time I worked the puzzle as a whole. This was challenging because not only do you want the picture as a whole but I wanted to make sure that as the pieces are sent off individually, they each have their own focal point as well. But I think I accomplished it. I made a collage style picture, which is challenging for me too! I think it rather came out well.
For the first Puzzle SWAP "Under the Sea" I was really nervous about it. This is totally new for me and the hostess was purposely being vague about the instructions. I struggled with it at first, and she kept saying just enjoy the process, you can't get it wrong! And she also expects this to be a "speed SWAP", done in a couple days after receiving it in the mail from her. It's so we don't over think the process. Well, I dove in faithfully. I struggled at first because I couldn't come up with a picture as a whole. So I ended up designing each piece individually. But she was right, I totally grew as an artist by this leap of faith! And now I'm hooked!
And what is really fun is after the SWAP is done, everyone is mailing your puzzle pieces to you. So it's really cool to open each little gift and put your puzzle "back together." And then see the whole creation! I'm framing the Under the sea one in a white frame with a special poem someone wrote with theirs. I will probably do the same thing with the dragonflies. Maybe I'll even line my hallway with these great creations! And talk about special gifts! ;)
I've posted a picture of the Dragonflies Puzzle SWAP in the Puzzle SWAP photo section. When I receive the other pieces I'll post that as well.
I don't think I ever did post a completed picture of the Under the Sea one, so I will also do that now as well.
